The Hour of Code is a global grassroots movement reaching over 100 million students. The campaign is organised by Code.org in collaboration with hundreds of partners worldwide. The goal of the campaign is to show that anybody anywhere can and should learn the basics of computer science. The initiative asks schools, teachers and parents across the globe to help introduce students of all ages to computer programming during Computer Science Education Week every December.
Tech Accelerate is an official Hour of Code partner in Africa, helping organise and grow the campaign by building partner networks with governments, schools and companies; (in pursuit of its mission to empower individuals and institutions in Africa to understand, adopt and use technology for their daily socio-economic activities, in line with current global best practices).
