Over the last few years we have seen a considerable uptake of digital education in Africa – in the classroom, online, skills training and a concerted effort to ensure no digital divide. This was witnessed at Innovation 2023 where we witnessed a momentous shift in ICT transformation, smart schools and digital excellence in Rwanda.

Innovation Africa 2024 will pick up the baton to bring together policymakers and industry leaders to work together in evidence-based ICT for education implementation. The 2024 summit for ministers of education and ICT will take place in Gaborone, Botswana, under the patronage and leadership of Minister of Education Hon Dr Douglas Letsholathebe.

Innovation Africa is a cabinet approved event, that as well being led by the Ministry of Education has the endorsement and participation of the Ministry of Communications, Knowledge & Technology and Ministry of Employment & Skills Development. This leadership of the Government of Botswana is primed to deliver an outstanding attendance of counterpart ministers and delegations from across sub-Saharan Africa.

Innovation Africa holds a unique place on the continent as the single gathering based around pre-scheduled meetings between industry and government leaders. With sustained investments in the digital transformation of education, the 12th Innovation Africa Summit is the place to do business and make more friends.

At the heart of Innovation Africa is the unique format of dedicated pre-scheduled meetings between industry and government ministers and officials. No other African event for education and ICT innovation affords executives the opportunity to schedule their one-to-one meetings in advance with the key government decision-makers.

Ministers and government officials from 40 African countries will participate in the forum. Participants will have the choice of booking meetings in advance of the event with ministers of education, higher education, ICT, science & technology, special government agencies for education, teaching and ICT delivery, universities and technical colleges.
